This thick, one-piece design, with its unique, hand-formed aggressive cutting head, pulls itself into the ground with little effort from the user. The one-piece open-face auger quickly penetrates through combination soils, from mud or clay to hard pan. The open-face design is especially useful for obtaining quick visual profiles and provides for easy soil extraction. The attached 16" rubber-gripped cross handle gives it a total length of 48" and can be used to auger to 3' below the ground surface. It is made of gold zinc-plated chromoly.
